01 · ABOUT
I like building things from the ground up.
I’m Noah Alter, a student at Colts Neck High School with a strong interest in business, entrepreneurship, accounting, leadership, and community service. I’m especially interested in how accounting turns the activity behind a business into a clear picture of what is actually working.
That has meant starting a nonprofit, creating an apparel brand, leading within BBYO, volunteering as a junior firefighter, competing in DECA, and working with kids in my community.
Each experience has taught me something different about leadership. I’ve learned that leading is not always about being the loudest person in the room. It is about bringing people together, taking responsibility, and turning ideas into action.
I’d rather build something imperfect than wait forever for the perfect idea.
MY OPERATING SYSTEM
Three rules I keep coming back to.
People make the idea matter.
A program, brand, or organization only becomes meaningful when other people feel like they belong in it.
Do the unglamorous part too.
Planning, follow-up, logistics, revisions, cleanup — the work behind the work is usually what makes the visible part possible.

I founded Unique Melodies to make music education more accessible and inclusive for individuals with special needs.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Unique Melodies creates opportunities for people to learn, perform, express themselves, and connect through music. I help lead the organization’s events, volunteers, outreach, branding, and growth.

MAXOUT
I created MAXOUT as an athletic and lifestyle clothing brand built around ambition, discipline, and pushing beyond your limits.
Building the brand has given me hands-on experience with product development, design, e-commerce, marketing, branding, pricing, customer experience, and running an online business. It has also made me pay attention to margins, costs, pricing decisions, and the numbers behind whether an idea is sustainable.

Turning ideas into action.
Leadership has become one of the most important parts of my high school experience. Whether I am leading a nonprofit, working with a BBYO chapter, organizing programs, or helping younger students, I try to focus on making the people around me feel included and capable of succeeding.

I like the messy
beginning.
I enjoy the process of taking an idea from a rough concept to something people can actually use.
Through Unique Melodies and MAXOUT, I’ve worked through branding, websites, marketing, customer experience, operations, design, event planning, budgeting, and growth. The creative side is what pulls me in, but accounting is what helps me understand whether the decisions behind a venture actually make sense. That combination is a major reason I want to study accounting while continuing to build businesses.
